What is FOREX?
The Foreign Exchange market, also referred to as the "FOREX" or "Forex" or "Retail forex" or “FX” or "Spot FX" or just "Spot" is the largest financial market in the world, with a volume of about $2 trillion a day. If you compare that to the $25 billion a day volume that the New York Stock Exchange trades, you can easily see how enormous the Foreign Exchange really is. It actually equates to more than three times the total amount of the stocks and futures markets combined! Forex rocks!
What is traded on the Foreign Exchange?
The simple answer is money. Forex trading is the simultaneous buying of one currency and the selling of another. Currencies are traded through a broker or dealer, and are traded in pairs; for example the Euro dollar and the US dollar (EUR/USD) or the British pound and the Japanese Yen (GBP/JPY).
Because you're not buying anything physical, this kind of trading can be confusing. Think of buying a currency as buying a share in a particular country. When you buy, say, Japanese Yen, you are in effect buying a share in the Japanese economy, as the price of the currency is a direct reflection of what the market thinks about the current and future health of the Japanese economy.
In general, the exchange rate of a currency versus other currencies is a reflection of the condition of that country's economy, compared to the other countries' economies.
Unlike other financial markets like the New York Stock Exchange, the Forex spot market has neither a physical location nor a central exchange. The Forex market is considered an Over-the-Counter (OTC) or 'Interbank' market, due to the fact that the entire market is run electronically, within a network of banks, continuously over a 24-hour period.
Until the late 1990’s, only the “big guys” could play this game. The initial requirement was that you could trade only if you had about ten to fifty million bucks to start with! Forex was originally intended to be used by bankers and large institutions - and not by us “little guys”. However, because of the rise of the Internet, online Forex trading firms are now able to offer trading accounts to 'retail' traders like us.

8:30am AUD Unemployment Rate actual 4.2% forecast 4.4% previous 4.4%
Setelah membuka web forexfactory.com saya pun segera siap2 trading tadi pagi jam 7:30 mulai menghidupkan komputer dan konek ke internet. 15 menit sebelum pukul 8:30 AUDUSD ternyata sudah melaju naik sekitar 10point.
Saya pun memutuskan utk main BuyTrap saja, mengingat harga sudah menunjukkan trend naik begitu.
Keputusan pun dilakukan, pasang BuyTrap di 0.8452 TP di 0.8462 (10pips saja seperti biasa :P)
Pukul 8:30 pun tiba, price bergejolak naik 10pips pada menit pertama, dan retrace bbrp pips. Puncak tertinggi mencapai 17 pips dari titik di mana order saya pasang. (silakan liat chart!)
Analisa: AU Employment Change diramalkan turun hingga 11.3K, ternyata keluarnya angka 39.4K atau lebih baik dari pada perkiraan. Sehingga diperkirakan kondisi perekonomian AU tidak sejelek yang diramalkan dengan adanya penurunan tingkat Employment.
Demikian pula data Unemployment Rate (pengangguran) yang lebih rendah dari perkiraan semakin menambah keyakinan bahwa perekonomian AU akan membaik.

7:30pm EUR ECB President Trichet Speaks
Pidato bos ECB ini mengomentari tingkat kenaikan suku bunga ECB yang beritanya telah dilaunching sebelumnya.
Para trader sebagaimana diberitakan oleh FxStreet akan menunggu pernyataan pers dari sang Presiden untuk dapat melakukan aksi trading nya. (sok pinter gw :P)
Hasil pergerakan price di EURUSD dapat dilihat pada gambar di bawah. Rupanya terjadi "Whipsaw" dimana harga bergejolak naik tapi kemudian turun kembali. Hal ini sangat membahayakan. Untuk menghindari ini, biasanya saya menggunakan indikator SuperSR7, dimana saya memasang TrapOrder di luar garis SuperSR7.
Namun karena terlalu bernafsu, tadi malam saya mengalami Loss karena memasang buyTrap di bawah SuperSR7.:(
Untungnya saya juga pasang SellTrap di bawah SR7 (@1.3505 TP 1.3495)
sehingga kekalahan pun terbayar kembali :)

Pertemuan para bos2 besar bank negara US UK dan JP diharapkan dapat membuat pasar forex berfluktuasi. Dan ternyata harapan ini benar, fluktuasi besar terjadi di pair USD/JPY (>30pips) dan di EUR/USD (>25pips), sedangkan di GBP/USD hanya 15 pips.
Saya secara pribadi trading di pair GU :( ya nggak apa2 lah, yang penting profit +10pips :P
